Region 5 - Tularosa, Great Salt and Sacramento River Basins Regional Water Plan
The water planning region encompasses portions of Lincoln County, Otero County, and Chavez County. The principal rivers are the Tularosa Creek and the Sacramento River. The principal aquifers are located in the Tularosa Basin. The region is bounded on the north by Torrance County, on the west by Socorro, Sierra and Doña Ana County, on the south by Texas, and on the east by Lincoln, Chavez and Eddy Counties.
Accepted by the Interstate Stream Commission in 2004.
