NM GEOSPATIAL STRATEGIC PLAN - PHASE 1 RELEASE Please find a link to the latest version of the New Mexico Geospatial Strategic Plan (Phase 1) for your review and comment. This document is considered a living document and will be updated and edited as needed/requested.

This document is the result of a number of workshops and a review process that included over 65 individuals representing three levels of the Geospatial Advisory Committee (GAC) Strategic Planning Working Group. This Working Group consists of representatives having state, local (city/county/regional), federal, tribal, educational, and private (professional organizations) interests.

The salient recommendations of the NMGSP are to fund both a GIO (Geospatial Information Officer) and our Geospatial Clearinghouse referred to as the Resource Geographic Information System (RGIS) housed at the Earth Data Analysis Center/University of New Mexico.

The Geospatial Strategic Planning Working Group wish to thank the State Department of Information Technology (DOIT) who oversaw the project, the New Mexico Geographic Information Council (NMGIC - copied) who secured the grant funds from the USGS, the USGS for granting us the funds, and the State Engineer who provided staff to shepherd the task.
