Water Use Program

The Water Use Program inventories surface and groundwater withdrawals and depletions by category, county, and river basin. The bureau maintains water-use databases and analyzes crop, weather, and water-use data. The bureau quantifies water requirements for irrigation and other uses and prepares technical reports for the water resources investigations and adjudication activities of the Water Resource Allocation and Litigation and Adjudication programs.

Water Conservation Program

The Water Conservation Program coordinates water conservation activities for the State of New Mexico. The program goals are to increase awareness regarding the value of our water resources; provide assistance to entities initiating water conservation plans and programs and, to assist in the development of state government policies which will encourage the implementation of water conservation measures in various water use sectors.
