Drought is no stranger to New Mexico.  After a few years of respite, the drought is back and this year it could set records.  Miniscule snowpack over the winter is not expected to improve and forecasters are predicting a dry warm spring.

The Office of the State Engineer plans for drought year-round and we are dedicated to ensuring all New Mexicans have access to water. Everyone can play a part in conserving this precious resource because in a drought, every drop counts.
