Interstate Stream Commission

Water Resources Data for the Little Colorado River System

Consumptive Use Accounting

The Interstate Stream Commission for estimating consumptive uses in the Little Colorado River Basin in New Mexico in 2003 and 2004 conducted field surveys of crop acreage in the basin. The field surveys were processed into Geographic Information System databases.

The commission also periodically prepares reports of consumptive uses from the basin in New Mexico, which reports are available for inspection at the commission office in Santa Fe.

Water Management Data

The US Geological Survey maintains stream flow gaging stations used in evaluating surface water supplies in the Little Colorado River Basin. The Office of the State Engineer Albuquerque District Office maintains ground-water level data for the Gallup and Rio San Jose underground water basins.
